This book was advertised as an uplifting inspirational read. There was nothing inspirational or uplifting about it. I found it very depressing. Long Story short: husband goes through midlife crisis, leaves wife after 19 years after having an affair. His mistress dies from a terminal illness and her autistic child never improves. Does not end uplifting!

I liked the writing style but the story for me was a struggle as I just can't condone cheating in any shape or form even though this was only a story. The story itself lacked a bit for me and it was not what I was expecting it to be.

A sleepy little harbour town of Clare, has an unexpected visitor, a dolphin. Fisherman Aidan is the first to spot her and christens her Star. The dolphin’s appearance prompts him to give up his fishing business, and star a Dolphin boat tour instead. But before he could get started, he comes across a beautiful woman with her autistic daughter. She, he later realizes, is a famous actress, Sarah Dillon, recovering from breast cancer, had come to the little village, in the hope that the dolphin hel [...]

I have very mixed feelings about this book. Firstly the blurb on the back of the book is no way indicative of what's inside and that really annoyed me. The story is not about Fiona and Sarah as it is about Aidan and Sarah , Aidan being Fiona's husband. The book was well written and I enjoyed the way Tara heavey draws you into the lives of her characters. The thing that I struggled mostly with was a moral issue and it wasn't the fault of the book rather where I'm at. I feel my review then is bias [...]

Tara Heavey is always an easy read. I have enjoyed her other books, but was left with a big "what?" on this one. I found the entire story too unbelievable, sure an accomplished woman, with a nice husband and almost grown children would be more than happy to share hubby with a visiting actress. Living in a small town would make it even easier to be so understanding, not.Was this supposed to be a love story?

What I liked about this book was that the story it told was very different from the type of books that I normally read. Having said that although it was easy to read I didn't find it a particular page turner, more something to pass the time while I commute to work.

A brilliant book, I couldn't put it down, a bit slow to start with, but then I was hooked, keep the tissues handy as it is very sad.
