      Sometimes trying to connect with the writing style of bygone decades is harder than bygone eras. That said, I still enjoyed this, not least because it's recognised as the first Australian book written for 'young people' to deal with LGBTQ issues.

      I loved this book. I, for the first time in my entire remembered life, had my throat go tight and freaking leak out little tears (my eyes sort of looked like waterfalls)over a book. I mean I was sitting in the shower trying to breathe because my throat had constricted that much over the turbulent feelings. I was certainly not prepared for reading this book. If anyone goes through my reviews and wants to have their emotions stomped on then this is probably the book for you.
