This third book is just as good and thought provoking as the first two. This once again follows from where the last book leaves off but being told to us through the shepherds that are out in the field just before the messiah is born. I consider Chronicles of the Host among the best Books I've ever read. Very good book. This takes place in Bethlehem just before Jesus is born. The setting is with the shepherds and the elder one is relating the stories of old. So, you are brought back in time. Ends with the birth of Jesus. Brought tears to my eyes when all of the angelic host were praising God. I would definitely read this again!

The progression of the story is exciting. Although the tone remains the same throughout the book. At times a little draggy but it is a good book overall.
